M-STEP Parent Report Video – NOW AVAILABLE

Last fall, the Michigan Department of Education provided schools and districts with an M-STEP Communication Toolkit in preparation for the release of state, district and building Spring 2015 results. To continue the Department’s commitment to support teachers, parents, and students throughout this transition to higher expectations for all students, a newly developed video is now available which summarizes M-STEP and walks viewers through how to read and interpret student scores within the M-STEP Parent Report.


This high quality video could be shown at various school and district meetings and events and/or shared with parents and staff via email or placement on your website.

Free PSAT Practice Tests

The PSAT/NMSQT is a standardized test designed to measure your ability to do college work. It is given once a year.

The test consists of five sections, two testing verbal reasoning skills and two testing mathematical skills, and one testing writing skills. Fifty minutes is allowed for answering the verbal questions, fifty for the mathematical questions, and thirty minutes for the writing questions.

Spring 2015 M-STEP District and Building Level Aggregate Data Publically Released


State, district, and building-level aggregate data were publically released this morning, December 17, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

The data was released on the MI School Data web site at The Michigan Department of Education previously released Spring 2015 M-STEP state-level aggregate data and an accompanying press release on October 27, 2015. This press release is available at,4615,7-140-37818_34785-368037--,00.html.

Spring 2015 M-STEP data can be found under the Student Assessment tab located under the left navigation category titled Kindergarten – 12 at For a direct link to the Student Assessment page click here:

Once on the assessment page, select either Grade 3-8 Assessments or High School Assessments. Once on the grade specific assessment page, select M-STEP and using the dropdown menu, select the information you are interested in reviewing.
